The current president of San Lorenzo, Sergio Costantino, responded to Marcelo Moretti after he took over at the club and defended the course of the new management amid a complex economic and sporting scenario. The leader assured that the club is going through a delicate situation, detailed the state of the debts, and pointed against the statements of the former president, who remains firm in retaking the helm. "We found the club in a complicated situation, but we are convinced that we are going to move it forward. They are all rumors." When referring to Moretti's criticisms, Costantino was direct and used a metaphor to mark differences: "Each one can say certain things, the certain thing is that none of that happened. There is a team that is working on the economic side and another on the legal side. San Lorenzo has to start recovering credibility," he affirmed. In the same line, the president denied formal negotiations for players from the squad: "There is nothing official for any San Lorenzo player. We just arrived on December 24 and now we are getting more details of the situation," he indicated. Additionally, Costantino confirmed that he will meet with coach Damián Ayude to begin planning the sports organization thinking about the 2026 season and the start of the Apertura Tournament. Costantino emphasized that the priority is to settle commitments without affecting the squad's assets: "The idea is to pay our debts without doing the easy thing, which is to sell a player. I don't want to be offering my players to other clubs," he held, and added that the institution needs "a good base to be able to face the two competitions." He also ruled out the arrival of external capital: "We are not looking to bring in investors, because they are people who seek to extract a benefit from the club. Shortly we will make a report so that the partners know the details," indicated Costantino to DSports Radio, as reported by Argentine News Agency. In that sense, he specified that "the debt with the players is two or three months in some cases" and that there are also unpaid bonuses, in addition to "14 inhibitions" that are currently being evaluated. The leader explained that the new management is working on different fronts to get the club in order: "We are doing economic engineering to be able to pay everything. Who tells you that the Fiat 600 may reach its destination. What Moretti says will be his topic. He has a social conviction and denounces that there was a coup when those who resigned were people from his bloc," he expressed. And he added: "This Fiat 600 takes you calmly, with the BMW you can crash at 400 km/h."
